I eat nutrient rich food without additives, whenever possible. I avoid processed and artificially sweetened food products, generally the canned and packaged items found in the centre isles of the supermarket.
What I eat:
- whole eggs, egg whites
- fish - smoked & fresh salmon, tinned tuna in water, shell fish, other
- meat & poultry (fatty & lean cuts)
- cottage cheese
- goats cheese, grass fed cheddar
- unsweetened Greek yogart
- protein bars - home made
- nuts - almonds, walnuts, brazils
- oatmeal (gluten free)
- quinoa (gluten free)
- fruit - banana, apple, berries and other low glycemic fruits
- some dried fruit
- spinach & other green leafy vegetables
- vegetables - sweet potatoes, other
- coconut oil, olive oil, avocado oil, flax seed oil
- cinnamon & nutmeg
- dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
What I drink:
- coffee with coconut oil, butter & cinnamon
- green tea with lemon and ginger
- almond milk
- coconut milk
- coconut water
- filtered water
- juiced fruit & veg mix - home made
- kefir
What I avoid (as much as possible):
- processed sugar products
- grain products
- breakfast cereals
- bread and pastries, all white flour produce
- pasteurized cows milk
- sweets and crisps
- fast food
- all types soda, sports drinks and fruit juices
- alcohol (apart from the occasional social beer)
... and no, I'm not a monk, I do eat the occasional cheat meal. I love pizza and ice cream,
